Institutional care
Since 1990 ERDA has been providing institutional care for more than 1,100 children in its Wukro and Kallamino (Mekelle) centers, where about 900 have graduated from higher learning institutions and are serving their country.
More than 260 children of street mothers are being nurtured and given care and support in the Addis Ababa Child Care Center of Elshadai.

Temporary Care
Elshadai prepared a temporary shelter used as an alternative care center to rehabilitate, reunify and reintegrate war affected children in Tigrai. Over 20 thousand war affected children (Unaccompanied and/or Separated) are going to be the direct beneficiaries, there will be nine centers throughout Tigrai to implement the envisaged activity.

More than 3,135 drug-addicted children grew in healthy environment safe from abuse and neglect, provided with care and support through community based, extended family foster care, and secure parental arrangements with priority to local alternatives as last resort inter country adoption.

Distance Sponsorship
This program supports 2,668 disadvantaged children living with their family. Such community based support helps the children not to drop out of school and assure equitable access to education.
